Board of directors election 2026

Education | Connection | Forward Thinking

NAUI has played an important role in shaping the diver, instructor, and dive professional I have become. As our organization enters an important new chapter, I’m running for the Board of Directors because I want to give back, represent our members, and help NAUI move forward while protecting the standards, educational philosophy, and people that make our organization what it is.

I bring experience from several different areas of the diving industry—from instruction and hyperbaric medicine to dive safety, marketing, and communication—and a perspective I believe can complement the tremendous experience already within our membership.

What I Bring

Education & Safety

“Dive Safety Through Education” is more than a slogan to me.

My experience as a scuba instructor, EMT, and Certified Hyperbaric Technologist has allowed me to see diving safety from very different sides—from teaching divers how to prevent problems to helping care for people when things haven't gone according to plan.

I believe confident, knowledgeable divers are safer divers, and I want NAUI to continue protecting the quality of education and instructor judgment that distinguish our organization while ensuring our members have the tools and resources they need to succeed.

Members & Relationships

Some of NAUI's greatest resources are the people already within it.

I want to see more opportunities for members to connect, exchange ideas, mentor one another, provide feedback, and become involved with their organization.

I am particularly interested in how we engage and retain the next generation of dive professionals while connecting them with the tremendous experience already within our membership. This isn't about replacing one generation with another. It's about building the bridge between them.

If we want experienced instructors, mentors, Course Directors, committee members, business owners, and industry leaders twenty years from now, we need to start developing and involving them today.

Communication & Technology

The way people discover diving, communicate, and learn continues to change.

Through my work in marketing and digital communication within the dive industry, I see opportunities for NAUI to better showcase its members, explain what makes our educational philosophy different, and connect with both existing members and the divers who may become our future professionals.

I believe technology should solve real problems rather than be adopted simply because it is new. Used thoughtfully, it can improve communication, make information easier to access, support instructors, and help members around the world feel more connected to their organization.

We can meet people where they are without losing what makes NAUI, NAUI.
